Mr Groot has more than 20 years of experience in the wireless and location industry. He founded FindWhere in 2003 and was one of the early adaptors of advanced Location Based Services. After the initial focus on Carrier based Cell ID solutions FindWhere integrated and sold 10.000’s of GPS tracking devices from leading manufacturers successfully. With the availability of GPS on mobile phones, pushed by TomTom, Nokia, Apple and Google, the focus of FindWhere nowadays is on innovative and safety centric mobile apps supported by a proven SaaS platform.
Today, under his leadership, FindWhere is considered a global leader in precision tracking and location based services.
Prior to launching FindWhere, Mr Groot founded Triptech International, a Fleet Management software company, which he eventually sold to Qualcomm. In his earlier days of entrepreneurship, he started and rolled out the European operation of Roadshow (now Descartes), a leading player in the routing and scheduling industry and the first to market with maps on computers.
